That’s my little bro below…can you see the family resemblance? When he & some friends came to visit, we explored the Mission District–just 15 mins from where I live. There was definitely not a shortage of photo-ops and pretty things. This is a must-visit spot if you’re planning a trip to San Fran, want to find fabulous food, and like to take pictures along the way.
Thanks to my model men, for their fashion debut on the blog!
Happy President’s Day! Okay I’m not really dressing up for President’s Day, but does it look like I am? This is what I wore this weekend. I hope you know that all my pictures are actual things I wear, so you’ll never see stilettos or mini’s on this blog! Just not practical for the foggy dress girl, even on a night out.
It’s warm in the sun but breezy & chilly in the shade…don’t go anywhere without a scarf, in this city!
In my attempt to take non-boring fashion-blogger photos, I am taking jumping pictures….oh boy.
Happy week, remember to wear something RED, WHITE or BLUE in honor of our past Presidents! (I’m just kidding about that, but what the heck…)
PS My little bro came into town and we explored the Mission District with him & his friends. Check back in a few days (or tomorrow; I really need to organize my blog posts better!) for their sight-seeing wears.
I know the big thing in the blogging world is to tie a knot with your belt around your waist…but sometimes I want a clean, tucked away belt, cinched around my waist. No loose ends!
Ok so I’ve never seen a tutorial about this, but then again I’m pretty new to the blogger-sphere world…
This is something I did a few years ago, when I was tired of have a wagging-loose-end of a belt hanging behind me. I have a few belts with enough holes to fit around my hips/jeans, but since I have wide hips and a small waist, I couldn’t use the belts interchangeably without doing the knot-tie thing. So here’s what I did…
a belt! preferable genuine leather, but not required
an “ouchless” elastic hair tie (I use the GOODY brand from Walmart), clear (or black)
a tack or nail (something sharp & pointy)
Put the belt around the smallest part of your waist.
Hold the spot where you’d imagine the hole to go through (I left a little extra room for layering!)
Mark the back with a marker/sharpie (I used a metallic one, it show’s up better on dark colored leather)
From the backside, press the tack firmly
Push through to the other side, twisting the pin and expanding the hole
Force the belt hook through the newly formed hole (it’ll be tight at first, but the more you use it, the looser it’ll get)
Now for securing that loose belt end! Take your clear elastic hair tie and STRETCH it! You think it’ll break but it won’t. Then put it on the end of your belt.
Now double it, so that it is tightly secured around your belt end.
Pull it down, almost all the way to the other end of the belt.
Secure the loose end by putting it through the elastic!
The amazing thing about living pretty much anywhere in California is (besides the sunshine) the strawberries. They are the very best from Ventura & Oxnard, but are usually very flavorful just about anywhere in Cali. Black berries are also delicious, and grow wild all over Northern California.
Anyway, my point in writing this post is that I was visiting a friend and asked if they wanted some berries. They politely said no thank-you, we don’t like to eat berries. You don’t like to eat berries?!?!? is what went through my mind. Well I’m here to declare that you’re right, you shouldn’t like to eat berries…you should LOVE to eat them. Berries are natures candy, and not only that, have lots of nutrients! They most always satisfy my sweet tooth craving. I used to be too cheap to buy them, but I’ve realized that it’s worth the few extra dollars they cost, and I can afford them if I take the Oreo’s out of my shopping cart. Plus they ALWAYS make good yogurt toppings.
So the next time you have a friend over, and they politely decline to eat your berries…just say to yourself, more for me!
